iNCOMiNG!

7:00amMonday

7:00amMonday

Like a 20 kiloton nuclear explosion going off right outside your window, iNCOMiNG! is a morning wake-up call that’ll fry the doldrums outta your brain and jolt you into a higher plane of awareness. Scientifically proven to be thrice as effective as your morning cup of coffee, we’re here to promote music in Cincinnati and promote it hard. Each morning, Monday through Friday, traveling scholar Sammy McKee and sedentary host Griff Brydon-Williams will ring up a rich roster of rad releases both local and global, as well as a range of artists playing in the Cincy area that week. It’s our musical breakfast buffet prepared especially for you, a smoky smorgasbord of rock n’ roll, punk, metal, indie, hip hop, country, electronic and whatever else we so desire. In doing so, we hope to (a.) invigorate your morning drive, (b.) expand your musical horizons, and (c.) get you off your butt to see some live music, why not? There’s always so much good stuff iNCOMiNG! that it’s often hard to keep track of it all; we’re here to break it down for ya in grand old style, and maybe have some laughs doing it. Who knows, you might even learn something!

Pyromancer

10:00pmMonday

10:00pmMonday

Natihiphop Presents: Pyromancer, an exploration of local and regional progressive hip-hop music, hosted by local beatmaker Juan Cosby.  Three hours of experimental hip-hop music, interviews, and event announcements.  The program runs from 10pm to 1am every Monday night exclusively on 1660 AM Radio Artifact.
Juan Cosby is an American Underground hip-hop producer.  A member of Cincinnati-based alternative hip-hop group Counterfeit Money Machine, Juan released Inhospitable Planet in 2017.  The debut LP features an overwhelming guest list that includes Blueprint and Eyenine, and has been described as "a dazzling exploration of progressive hip-hop" (Mike Breen, CityBeat).
Juan has shared the stage with Sage Francis, Sole, Milo, Cage, clipping., Open Mike Eagle, and Busdriver; and also worked with Blueprint, Afroman, Toki Wright, and MegaRan.  He's recently been featured on WNKU 89.7, The Project 100.7, CincyMusic.comFromTheOH.com, and the UK-based Scratch the Surface podcast.
In 2009, Juan launched Grasshopper Juice Records, boasting an eclectic lineup of nationally recognized artists including The Harlequins, Wonky Tonk, The B.E.A.T., and MC Longshot. The label's marquee event AYE Music & Art Festival is a multi-genre/multi-venue fundraiser that has become a pillar of the Cincinnati music scene.
"The result is an incredibly musical Hip Hop album that gives voice to the palpable frustration and anger that permeates American culture while offering a few rays of hope for its resolution. That lyrical range, balanced against Mitchell’s evocative and singular beats and melodies, creates a compelling and engaging tension over the course of Inhospitable Planet’s 13 tracks" - Brian Baker, CityBeat

10:00pmWednesday

THE HUM is a weekly, hour-long presentation of new, reverberating, resonant, sonic explorations and experiments created by local experimental/ambient/drone musician Fritz Pape. Each week, a new single piece of music will be created, influenced by early minimalist composers, German synthesizer experiments, modern classical excursions and slow guitar-noise dirges – an exploration of the tiny crevasses of sound, stretched into infinity for listeners to soak up and vibrate in. Fritz Pape performs frequently under the name Zijnzijn Zijnzijn!, utilizing a swath of guitar pedals, synthesizers and other sound-making devices to sculpt slowly moving, ever-evolving slabs of harmonious sound. He also makes guitar noise with Build Us Fiction and drum noise with Cracked Flashlight.

Besides a love for music, Bunny has a strong interest in researching mental illness, an interest he wishes to pursue as a future career. During this radio show, Bunny hopes to bring both of those loves together to create an outlet for artists to talk about their music and other interests, as well as Bunny having special episodes dedicated to speaking about interesting topics regarding mental health.
