HUMBLE BEGINNINGS
What started as pirate radio born in response to the loss of the last local FM station to support and promote local and independent music, has grown into a media platform to carry out the same purpose. We partnered with our local public radio station 91.7FM WVXU to bring independent music and programming back to the air waves, and turned the venue space at Urban Artifact into a recording and broadcast studio with an intimate space for an audience to experience performances unlike anywhere else.
THE RADIO ARTIFACT LIVE STUDIO
Our live studio was designed by one of our own, Scott Hand through his company: Trilobite Design. We built it to be an intimate performance and recording space unlike any other; allowing an intimate audience to experience a studio environment.
If you’re interested in recording with or without an audience we have a few options to offer. The studio is available to rent out for meetings, seminars, and parties; we can facilitate hybrid in-person and over the internet events as well.
FIND US ON AIR
We broadcast not only our Plumb Jamb sessions, but also a whole catalog of music submitted by independent and local musicians and bands, as well as original radio show programming. 917FM WVXU is our radio streaming and broadcast partner, but with your support through Patreon, we will be able to bring Radio Artifact to more stations and listeners!
IT’S A PLUMB JAMB!
Plumb Jamb is a portal to the art of independent musicians and creators. Tickets to, and information on the in-studio recording sessions are available here. You can find clips on our Youtube channel; catch livestreams, previous sessions and show your support via Patreon; and download and stream via Bandcamp and your preferred streaming platform. You can find more details including how to record on Plumb Jamb with us here.
