RADIO ARTIFACT MRDA INFO
We use a standardized open source Music and Recording Distribution Agreement to partner with artists, and it works even if you have agreements with other labels/publishers. The MRDA in a nutshell:
Radio Artifact handles the show production, recording and distribution; and potentially the mixing and mastering. Artist can elect to handle the mix and master to their aesthetic (with a more favorable royalty split) and the royalties split for the life of the recording. Radio Artifact handles all of the production costs (if the Artist does not elect to mix and master), takes care of digital distribution (i.e. Bandcamp, Spotify, 50+ additional distributors, streaming etc.), transparently tracks revenue made by this recording, and pays out to the Artist when a minimum $ threshold is met per quarter. This only applies to this particular live recording. The Artist maintains the rights to their music copyright/IP and the ability to enter agreements for future/past studio recordings of these same songs. No strings attached - we just get to collaborate on this one recording event and mutually benefit from it being in each other's catalog. Essentially, Radio Artifact wants to record and distribute the shows we're producing, and wants the artists we host to get a cut from it long-term.
We also offer the studio to be rented out for artists interested in separate recording and distribution partnership.
Recording packages outside of our regular audience-shows start at $440. We aren't able to invite everyone for our curated performance calendar, but if you want to secure a spot in the studio, this is a way to make sure you can get on the schedule.
